Levi's 501 Jeans

Levi’s 501 jeans

The Levi's 501 is the most famous model of the American jean brand. The pants have a Levi's Original Fit(sometimes called Regular-Fit) with slightly tapered legs and the characteristic Button Fly, or buttoned fly. This classic Levi jeans should not be missing in your wardrobe and is a real collectors item!

The legendary Levi’s 501 dates back to 1973, when the very first Levi jeans were launched by Oskar Levi Strauss. Over four billion pairs of these men's jeans have been sold worldwide to date, making these jeans the most worn piece of clothing around the world. The Levi’s 501 can still be found in the range over 130 years later and is as popular as ever. The number 501 refers to the first batch of blue cotton from Nimes, France, shipped to America for the production of Levi’s jeans. In fact, this Levi 501 was the precursor of all other Levi jeans. In the early years of Levi's success, this Levi’s 501 remained virtually unchanged. The men's jeans were sewn onto a piece of denim that was exactly 71 cm wide, with the selvages falling exactly on the outside of the legs. As success grew, so did production, and after 1984 the 501 jeans were produced on larger looms for faster and more accurate production.
